Is there a limit to the time that items must be disclosed, such as traffic violations etc??

Limit? No.

However, all of your information is held on the MIB (Medical Information Bureau). Similar to a credit report only it holds all of your medical information. Insurance companies use this like lenders use your credit report. Much like some lenders have looser requirements to give you more, some insurance companies have looser requirements to give you insurance. However, there are certain things on your credit report that will keep you from getting money from almost every lender and there are some things on your MIB that will keep you from getting coverage will almost every insurance company.

How long does it take for your exclusions to go away? Depends on how bad the medical condition and/or diagnosis is. FYI...cancer is often a disqualifying diagnosis for 10 years after it has gone into remission.
